PlayStation 4 compie un anno e Sony ha deciso di celebrare l'evento pubblicando sul PlayStation Blog un'infografica con i numeri realizzati dalla console in questi dodici mesi.

Toybox Turbos è il nuovo gioco di Codemasters, quelli di DiRT ed F1, successore spirituale della seria Micro Machines.

Memore delle ore passate a circa 10 anni con Micro Machines V3 su PS1 sono corso subito a provare la demo appena disponibile. Il gameplay si basa su tre semplici tasti acceleratore, freno e power-up, ma nonostante questo risulta davvero divertente.

Ci sono 35 veicoli tutti diversi tra loro (divisi nelle varie categoria e personalizzabili nei colori) e 18 circuiti particolari, ricchi di scorciatoie ed imprevisti. Ad esempio c'è un tracciato ambientato in una cucina dove i fornelli si accendono ad intermittenza e se siete nel posto sbagliato nel momento sbagliato... ma se siete abili e fortunati guadagnerete centesimi di secondo preziosi per la vittoria.

Il gioco costa 15€ su Steam, PlayStation 3 e Xbox 360 e per quello che ho provato li vale tutti.

Dopo i tanti rumor che si sono susseguiti in questi mesi, finalmente arriva la conferma ufficiale direttamente da Square Enix: Just Cause 3 arriverà su PC, PlayStation 4 e Xbox One nel 2015. La notizia arriva da Game Informer, che sembra avere ottenuto l'esclusiva per presentare il terzo capitolo della saga free-roaming.

Quelli che una volta erano gli Spike Video Game Awards (VGA) e l'anno scorso sono diventati VGX, quest'anno tornano con una nuova formula. Geoff Keighley ha annunciato la nascita di The Game Awards. Molto probabilmente si ritornerà alla formula degli anni passati, ma sicurmente ci saranno trailer, anteprime, presentazioni esclusive a margine delle premiazioni sui migliori videogiochi dell'anno.

I The Game Awards si svolgeranno venerdì 5 dicembre 2014, in diretta da Las Vegas, e tra i personaggi e le compagnie che interverranno nel corso della serata, o che hanno partecipato alla sua organizzazione, ci sono Reggie Fils-Aime di Nintendo, Yves Guillemot di Ubisoft, Hideo Kojima, Shawn Layden (CEO di Sony Computer Entertainment America), Peter Moore (COO di Electronic Arts), Rockstar Games, Phil Spencer di Microsoft, Martin Tremblay (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) e Valve.

Direttamente da Telltale arrivano alcune novità sulla nuova serie della software house Californiana di basato su Game of Thrones. La notizia più importante è che l'adventure ambientato nelle terre di Westeros sarà diviso in sei capitoli, con il primo intitolato "Iron from Ice". Per la premier della serie invece, Telltale si è limitata ad un laconico "soon".

Toy Story tornerà con un capitolo diretto da John Lasseter, regista del primo film della saga di Buzz e Woody. Toy Story 4 uscirà nelle sale il 16 giugno 2017 e ripartirà dalla fine precedente capitolo, dove Andy regala tutto i suoi giochi ad una bambina di nome Bonnie, e a quanto pare ci sarà una storia d'amore. Insieme a Lasseter collaboreranno Lee Unkrich, regista di Toy Story 3, Pete Docter, regista di Up, e Andrew Stanton, regista di Finding Nemo.

Each cassette will come with a digital download version of the album. It will be the first music cassette released by Disney since 2003. Disney has not announced how many copies of the Guardians cassette will be released.

Google oggi ha presentato la nuova famiglia Nexus. A partire dal Nexus 6: smartphone con un display da 6 pollici prodotto da Motorola con processore Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 da 2.7 Ghz e fotocamera da 13 megapixel f2.0, con stabilizzatore ottico, doppio flash led e funzionalità HDR+.

Per passare poi a Nexus 9: device prodotto da HTC da 8.9 pollici e primo table ta montare il SoC Nvidia Tegra K1 "Logan" a 64-bit.

Ma l'annuncio più interessante è Nexus Player, il primo dispositivo ad utilizzare Android TV. Si tratta di un set-top box sviluppato da Google con la collaborazione di Asus in grado di offrire in streaming tutti i servizi di Google ed inoltre ha la possibilità di fungere da console e si può giocarci direttamente sul televisore tramite un joypad realizzato appositamente per Nexus Player.

Tutti avranno preinstallato Android 5.0 Lollipop, nuova versione del sistema operativo made in Mountain View, e arriveranno il 3 novembre in tutti i negozi.
